I would like to thank my former eighth grade English teacher for making us study this poem repeatedly until it was drilled into my memory.

I taught this poem to my ESL students last year - it was fascinating to see how such a short, simple-seeming poem led them to ask so many questions about America, its history, and its ideals. Just a brilliant, brilliant piece of writing.

I read "A Raisin In the Sun" and this poem last year for my english class. It just popped into my head a couple of days ago and now this quiz showed up. Thank you for making me remember this wonderful poem.

Read this in school a few years ago--here I could only remember interesting bits like the part about raisins, festering, and rotten meat.
