@betraisefold: Best to go with what you yourself find interesting and jnow pretty well - write a quiz that you would like to do. I think personal satisfaction over the quality of your own work is the biggest reward. Proof read and double-check your facts - is the spelling correct and is the source reliable? Although quiz ratings aren't an accurate barometer as to the quality of the quiz, many players are brutally unforgiving about mistakes, no matter how small.
AS to getting your quiz played, that is a real challenge. Cream rises to the top, so a well-made quiz, especially on a subject that hasn't been done to death, may get the eye of the editors, or other players may nominate it. If you have friends who play Sporcle, let them know when you have a new quiz out and tat you would appreciate a rating; hopefully they will like it enough to give it a 5 (it's not automatic with my friends), but taht may get it on the highest ratings listings. Probably briefly, as the more a quiz is played, the more likely it is to have its ratings slide.
Finally, be active in the community. Rate others' quizzes and leave comments. After you left a few comments about my quizzes, I checked yours out and played Seinfeld today. But don't blatantly advertise; apparently that's a non-no. |
