@caramba You nearly killed me. I typed in both protactinium and bromine about 50 times each, but they are misspelled. That's why I ran out of time, really :P

: Sorry for breaking your brain. Anybody know a good fact checker? Considering I only got 65% on my own quiz, no wonder I missed those.

Fun quiz! As a shameless plug, I made one of these with U.S. state abbreviations a while back: http://www.sporcle.com/games/puckett86/state_country_abbr. I think yours is harder and thus more fun.

My father is a chemist and my mother is a web designer. I blame them for my 0/55 on this quiz... (we never really got along)

Wait... Spain is Einsteinium? Oh, Espana! Still no justification for Solomon Islands being Antimony. (Got 32 correct with 84%)

@Captain - Antimony's atomic symbol is Sb which is short for stibnite, the common name of antimony sulfide. As for the country code, the 's' is probably for Solomon and the 'b' was most likely given because there were too many 's' country codes.

Good quiz- but why under "Just For Fun?" Its more of a science-geography mix. I probably would put this in science considering that the answers are elements. If not Science, Geography. Or maybe even Miscellaneous. But Just for Fun? C'mon. Just for Fun is for 60 second blitzes, April Fool quizzes, and goofy quizzes like Things Meat Loaf/Love and The Impossible Quiz.

@GeoExpert - in my many years of studying science, and specifically chemistry, it's never been important for me to match internet codes with elemental symbols, it's the kind of thing one might to in their spare time, perhaps just for fun. Also, the answer in the box should ALWAYS say Aluminium, not Aluminum. Rules is rules.

It's weird that Silver isn't the answer for Argentina, given that's what the country is named after.

I tried a quiz where words could be formed by combining various internet country domain codes. Jordan + Kenya = JO/KE. Canada + Slovenia + Norway = CA/SI/NO. Vatican City + Gibraltar + Namibia... well, you get the picture.
It was a massive failure.
This is a much better idea. Well done.

@caramba: To recycle your comment from the country names in Russian quiz, looks like we have reached "that tipping point where no one wants to hear about Кыргызста́н ever again and everyone's clamoring for Вануату."

A tough quiz for me, the English names of elements are a real challenge. We just use the shortened names in Polish (astat, brom, nobel, einstein etc. without those difficult to remember Latin endings). It made me try to type argentum, argentium instead of silver, because I couldn't switch from Latin back to English :(
