You misspelled "The Curse of Frank Black" series (2 N's), and there's no way "Curse of the Kramdens" was from 1966. The show in the answer ran only one season (39 episodes) in 1956. The episode you reference is actually a skit from "The Jackie Gleason Show", which in its last few years included remade Honeymooner episodes.
Oct 19th, 2011 at 21:05 GMT
Also, wouldn't Night of the Cylons be from "Galactica 1980", rather than the original series? And no Roseanne episode? Suggestion: "Skeleton in the Closet" (1994).
Oct 19th, 2011 at 22:58 GMT
: Fixed Frank Black. Galactica 1980 is now the displayed answer - other variations have always been accepted.
The Jackie Gleason Show is now the displayed answer, though Honeymooners is accepted. That episode originally ran in March 1957 as part of the Kramdens in Europe series. It was remade as an extended sketch for the Hallowe'en episode of The Jackie Gleason Show, October 29, 1966.
I tried to use titles that gave a bit of a clue to the show, so I think that one is one people will either get or not, regardless of year. It's also why I rejected the Roseanne titles, as well as others such as The Office. And I really wish Modern Family hadn't gone with "Halloween".

I can empathize with the "The Curse of Frank Black" show- in the mid-'90s, I was often terrorized by "Monkey Gone to Heaven" and "Debaser", too.

Psych has had a number of Halloween-related episodes: "Scary Sherry; Bianca's Toast"; "Tuesday the 17th"; "Who You Gonna Call?"; "Let's Get Hairy"; and "Heeeeere's Lassie" among them. But I will agree that "This Episode Sucks" is a worthy choice.

Trick or Treat, everybody! This was a harder quiz to write than the one I did for Christmas, as many of the episode titles don't have clues to the show itself. Actually, most are just called "Halloween".
Comment below threshold:

Maybe except Suite Life of Zach and Cody (as well as Zack)?
Oct 29th, 2012 at 18:29 GMT
Only 18% got Community? This is the darkest timeline.

I bailed as soon as I saw iCarly and the Suite Life...

Nobody sneeringly dismisses shows aimed at tweens more than someone who was recently a tween themself...
Oct 29th, 2012 at 19:48 GMT
Nice mix of classic, cable and recent. Ticked that I did not get the Psych one.
Oct 29th, 2012 at 19:57 GMT
Blue's Clues. My brain did not go there at all! What a neat inclusion.
Oct 29th, 2012 at 20:07 GMT
@RonB: Would you have been psyched if you got The Tick?
Oct 29th, 2012 at 20:27 GMT
darn, nobody seems to know about Psych (one of the best shows on tv)
Oct 29th, 2012 at 20:41 GMT
I enjoyed the inclusion of the show in the 3rd answer. That was a good show. Don't like all the kid shows though.
Oct 29th, 2012 at 21:44 GMT
What? No Roseanne? Best Halloween episodes ever.
Oct 29th, 2012 at 22:43 GMT
@anniemax, The Rosanne one was why I took the quiz, thinking, Well at least I'll get one..."
Oct 29th, 2012 at 22:54 GMT
: Which Roseanne Halloween episode would give you the best chance of guessing the show?
Trick or Treat
Trick Me Up, Trick Me Down
Skeleton in the Closet
Halloween: The Final Chapter

This would've been awesome if it was a picture quiz.
Oct 29th, 2012 at 23:47 GMT
Great idea for a quiz. Was sad to see so few 60's, 70's, and 80's shows. Was that due to the "Halloween" title phenomenon you mentioned?

Would have been better without all the Nick/Comedy Central shows.
Oct 30th, 2012 at 01:34 GMT
I wish there would've been a Roseanne episode. I assumed there would be one, since they have the best Halloween shows. In second place is Home Improvement, so it was nice to see that one there.
Oct 30th, 2012 at 02:28 GMT
Looked through the episodes for a title that looks like a Big Bang Theory episode. Once I saw Paradigm I thought, yup that's Big Bang Theory.
Oct 30th, 2012 at 02:54 GMT
I'm suprised Outsourced has more guesses than Psych, considering Outsourced only aired for one season.
Oct 30th, 2012 at 02:58 GMT
I suggest accepting just "The Suite Life"...though "...with Zack and Cody" was the full name of the show at the time - I've never heard anyone call the show that...even the Disney Channel promos referred to the show as "The Suite Life" - in both incarnations...
Oct 30th, 2012 at 05:30 GMT
I protest that you did not include "Fear, Itself", one of my favorite Halloween episodes of any series (season 4 of Buffy, the Vampire Slayer). Obviously, "Halloween" from season 2 would have been silly to include. To make it more difficult, you could have included "All the Way: from season 6, but "Fear, Itself" was the better of the two. To leave out a show with some great Halloween episodes is a disservice. It probably is just my Buffy bias speaking, though.
Oct 30th, 2012 at 05:32 GMT
Also, I'm miffed that I guessed Ed, Edd and Eddie and didn't get credit. It's been years since I've even thought of the show, and I don't think I ever knew that the 'n' was not an 'and'.
Oct 30th, 2012 at 08:17 GMT
@caramba: The year given helped me as much as the episode titles in most cases. Either "Trick Me Up, Trick Me Down" or "Skeleton in the Closet" would've been my choice to include Roseanne. I would've like to see a couple more older shows and a couple less new ones. Overall the selection was good though.

The kids' shows absolutely made this for me. And I got a lot of shows that I've never watched, which I always love in a quiz. Annoyed at myself for not guessing Knight Rider though. When most kids were watching cartoons on a Saturday morning, I watched Knight Rider. It was THE show of my childhood (along with 60s Batman).

In my opinion, nothing beats the Boy Meets World Halloween episode. "Oh my god. They killed Kenny." "We'll always know he was that tall."
Oct 30th, 2012 at 17:28 GMT
Thsi quiz in not complete without the inclusion of the Dick Van Dyke Show episode "It May Look Like a Walnut". The quiz is good...but not complete. :)

I love you for including Psych! I've always felt that Psych doesn't get as much attention as it deserves!
Oct 31st, 2012 at 10:59 GMT
I got 20, including Psych, Chuck, and Community! How many other secret answers are there, I got M*a*s*h?
Nov 2nd, 2012 at 03:07 GMT
Why so many cartoons?
Nov 3rd, 2012 at 14:08 GMT
"Dawn of the Eds" for "Ed, Edd n Eddy" was not a Halloween episode. If you still want to include the show, the actual episode was "Ed, Edd n Eddy's Boo Haw Haw" in 2005.
Nov 4th, 2012 at 20:21 GMT
: I checked and you're right - that episode first aired in February. I have replaced it with an episode of a show that people have been clamouring for.

HIMYM should be an acceptable acronym for How I Met Your Mother.
