LTH : Feb 16th, 2011 at 04:08 GMT 4 points @caramba, this was fun! Although after 'caste' it says to add a letter when it should say drop a letter.
caramba : Feb 16th, 2011 at 05:30 GMT 3 points I'm thinking of dropping it from 4 minutes to 3 - vote up if you agree.
greenday61892 : Feb 16th, 2011 at 19:35 GMT 8 points This was VERY clever. 5 globes for you :) Very enjoyable.
White : Feb 16th, 2011 at 22:58 GMT 12 points I used to make stuff like this that was even more varied. Some of them aren't on this site but I could find them and make quizzes. Anyone up for that? (vote up for "yes, make some")
lilbrownwren : Feb 17th, 2011 at 21:14 GMT 9 points I like it! It's trickier than a normal word ladder, because if you get stumped you can't just skip it, since you don't know what the instructions will be... but the challenge adds to the fun!
caramba : Feb 17th, 2011 at 21:40 GMT 11 points @lilbrownwren : I'm glad you like it. If you do get stumped on one, though, I've tried to make my definitions a little more straightforward than usual, so you may be able to work backward by bridging the gaps.
crashedferrari : Feb 19th, 2011 at 09:12 GMT 6 points Manger to Ranger should say 'change a letter'.
caramba : Feb 19th, 2011 at 13:51 GMT 6 points @crashedferrari : Thanks, I did some minor surgery after contributing this, after getting some tips from the Sporcle Word Ladder king, and I forgot to double check the instructions.
caramba : Feb 25th, 2011 at 04:29 GMT 3 points Word Ladder Plus #2 is now out - http://www.sporcle.com/games/caramba/ladder_plus_two_equals

deugea : Feb 28th, 2011 at 04:48 GMT 27 points I love it! Much more challenging than a traditional word ladder. Great job!
TheInquisitor : Feb 28th, 2011 at 05:05 GMT 11 points i agree! great quizzie!
caramba : Feb 28th, 2011 at 05:11 GMT 19 points Wow, my first published word ladder! I did a second one, with a further twist. The link is in the archived comments. Thanks for playing.
sir692 : Feb 28th, 2011 at 05:21 GMT 6 points Best word ladder ever.
toujoursyours : Feb 28th, 2011 at 06:35 GMT 6 points This was fun! Nice work! :)
Todd1952SF : Feb 28th, 2011 at 06:59 GMT 5 points A "manger" is not a stall in a stable. It's "a box or trough in a stable or barn from which horses or cattle eat." It would typically contain hay and would be found in a stable -- and in a rather well-known story, a newborn infant was wrapped in swaddling clothes and placed on the hay in a manger in lieu of a crib.
FritztheSpritz : Feb 28th, 2011 at 07:00 GMT 1 point I enjoyed that but I don't understand the joker clue.
jefe_ : Feb 28th, 2011 at 07:53 GMT 3 points Heath Ledger played the Joker in The Dark Knight.
chiefyratain : Feb 28th, 2011 at 12:40 GMT 3 points Garner and amass are not really synonyms, I know that in the dictionary one of the ladder definitions includes the word amass, but garner more commonly means to earn or create(income or results of any nature), ie his hard work has garnered him a well deserved reputation.
Pokerella : Feb 28th, 2011 at 13:31 GMT 9 points A ton of fun, but a bit too fast in my opinion- a minute or two longer, maybe?
jpahk : Feb 28th, 2011 at 14:33 GMT 2 points goofy, but fun. i can't tell if i love or hate that all the instructions end with an exclamation point.
icing : Feb 28th, 2011 at 15:21 GMT 4 points A little tough, but terrific! Hope to see more from you, caramba!
climber_v12 : Feb 28th, 2011 at 15:21 GMT 5 points The best word ladders I've ever played! Thanks Caramba! Make some more unusual ones!!!
evillttlimp : Feb 28th, 2011 at 17:42 GMT 3 points @Jpahk. You love it. You know you do. It's excited!
Fruitbat : Feb 28th, 2011 at 17:52 GMT 2 points Really like the idea. Unfortunately got stuck on "NY hockey player".
Comment below threshold: show it rennbj4 : Feb 28th, 2011 at 20:57 GMT -6 points wtf manges?
tanukis : Feb 28th, 2011 at 21:09 GMT 2 points positively delightful
planetmutty : Feb 28th, 2011 at 21:22 GMT 4 points Great stuff, caramba. A nice variation on the usual word ladder games.
koopa08 : Feb 28th, 2011 at 22:29 GMT -1 points I've heard of 'mange' but not 'manges'
alfie : Feb 28th, 2011 at 22:41 GMT 3 points i agree with everyone else! i really enjoyed this quiz. excellent twist.
googlebird : Mar 1st, 2011 at 03:11 GMT 2 points Got hung up in the middle and kept trying to force "water" and "gather" in there somehow. Also, I never knew that "manger" was the little feed box. I thought the whole Nativity set under a Christmas tree was the same as a "manger scene". Learn something new all the time.
NY_MOB : Mar 1st, 2011 at 03:40 GMT 4 points Very clever variation of the ladder type quiz. Loved it.
sten : Mar 1st, 2011 at 22:28 GMT 3 points I loved this one! Nice change from the usual ladder. It was slightly harder to make up answers you don't know—though I managed anyway... better that than actually learn things about sports! ;]
karasu337 : May 22nd, 2011 at 15:58 GMT 3 points Tad bit difficult on the time, but otherwise a great play. Keep it up.
EmYanks2001 : Oct 15th, 2011 at 07:58 GMT 2 points Lots of fun!!!
