"The Games Hall of Fame was created in 1984 to honor games that have met or exceeded the highest standards of quality and play value and have been continuously in production for at least 10 years; i.e., classics. The Hall of Fame is published annually in the Buyer’s Guide section of the December issue of Games." This is not a list of favourite childhood games or even games everyone has heard of. There's only one game on this list that makes me scratch my head regarding its inclusion. The rest are great choices. My favourite is sadly out-of-print.

	Glad you put that game note in, Caramba. I'm wondering if one of their criteria for the Hall was to not include the some of the most-fun games... Mouse Trap? No. Operation? No. Candy Land? No. Pictionary? No. Snakes (Chutes) and Ladders? No. Trouble? No. Yikes! At least Twister made it... If you can determine that a clickable version has not been done, I look forward to the Toy Hall of Fame version of this. I think THEY got it right.

	@needapausebutton: Twister is the one I can't figure out how it got on the list. For the other games you've listed, except for Pictionary, I find that they have limited appeal as far as replayable value. I loved playing them as a kid and also with my own kids but, as an adult, I want something meatier.

	@needapausebutton: But that's not the perspective of Games Magazine (whose "Hall of Fame" is in no way official by any means). There is a sizeable group of people, maybe even the majority, who feel that games are for kids, or an amusing trifle if played by adults, but they are not the target audience of that publication. I was thinking about this and trying not to come across as a "gaming snob", but my own acid test for including games in a hall of fame would be "does the game provide opportunities for mental/strategic challenges and/or social interaction", does it still "hold up after a number of plays" and "would adults plan an evening around playing the game"? I think games that aren't in the Hall, but fit my criteria would include Pictionary, Balderdash, possibly even Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh.

	And one that you brought up commenting in another quiz, which is one of my favorite games of all time, "Dictionary". My parents played it with their friends when I was young, but aware, and when I was about 11 or 12, they started letting me join in. When I started to fool some of the adults with my fake definitions, and easily guess others' fake ones, I knew my career as a quiz-maker was assured ;) Of course, that "game" was really just the household dictionary, a pencil and a piece of paper, so it too wouldn't meet the "standards" set here...
