The reactor is in Slovenia, but 50% is owned by Croatia.
The Bushehr reactor has been loaded with fuel, but is not connected to the grid yet.

This is really bizarre, I thought of making this quiz yesterday after seeing that wikipedia page, and I was going to make it today, but bufsabres has beaten me to it! Crazy coincidence huh?

Does the number of operating reactors given take into account Japan's twelve currently shut down reactors?

That is really bizarre, although both of our thoughts probably stemmed from the fact that Japans reactors have been in the news after the earthquake. @cuendillar: I believe that they are included in the 55. I'm not sure if that should stay that way for now, or if I should change it for the time being. Any thoughts?

We may both have done the exact same thing, seen the article for the Fukushima explosions on wiki's front page, and then clicked on the link to 'list of nuclear power plants' link on the page. One of those times when you realise almost all people think the same way! Cognitivists would love it! :p

I think I thought of it because of the nuclear explosions, but I'm not sure. I was just trying to come up with a quiz to make, and I think at the back of my mind I subconsciously thought of what was going on in Japan. So my reasons weren't as direct as yours, but they probably stemmed from the same thing.

Doesn't Israel have a single nuclear plant that provides like 25% of the country's power. Back in the '60s the Israelis bought nuclear technology from France, claiming they wanted to build a reactor for electricity.....that's how they come to be the worlds only undeclared nuclear power.

To the best of my knowledge Israel is believed to have undeclared nuclear weapons, but does not have any nuclear reactors producing electricity. There are, however, plans to build one in the near future. See http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/10/world/middleeast/10nukes.html

Hmmm, I think the disparity here is that the title suggests countries with reactors (which would include the DPRK and Israel, and a multitude of others with research reactors at universities), but the rules specify something more specific. Perhaps a slight change in the title to include the words "for commercial purposes."

Israel has a nuclear power plant in the north outside of Haifa that's used for electricity. There's nothing secret about it.
