	I think of all of these records, Rivera's is the most likely to go down. He broke Trevor Hoffman's just a few years after it was set.

	@popkiller: that happened because their careers overlapped for several years. I doubt it goes down, at least anytime soon, because it's rare for closers these days to rack up 40+ saves. Furthermore, Rivera, at least, had many saves that were more than three outs in length, something that is even more rare.

	Backing up my point with hard numbers, the next closest to Rivera is Francisco Cordero and he's not even closing these days, while trailing by nearly 300 AND Rivera is still active, as well. If anyone in the current top ten has a shot at the record, it would be Papelbon, and he's 7th with 257. To say Rivera's record is going down is irresponsible.

	I mean these are all called "unbreakable" for a reason. But if we're putting odds, I think you'd have to say Dimaggio's streak. Not because I THINK someone will, but it's more a statistical anomaly. Most of these others (the SB, triples, complete games) just dont jive with the way the game is played anymore.

	75 complete games in a season is ridiculous, even taking into consideration how the game was played in the 1800s.

	The only ones of these I think are unbreakable are the pitching ones like wins and complete games in a season. I guarantee someone will break DiMaggio and Ripken's records at some point, someone will have consecutive nonos (though BREAKING that record and getting three is pretty unlikely).

	Kahuna63 I doubt Jeter will be even close to Rose's record. That broken ankle last fall will probably put an end to his career soone rather than later.

	@slugga27 - How is that at all irresponsible? While it might be rare right now for a closer to get 40 saves, Rivera's 608 is not so out of reach that it's impossible that it might be broken in the near future. Especially considering that the save record has been broken 3 times in the last 8 years and 4 in the last 20. This isn't Rickey Henderson being 500 steals higher than the #2 guy.
