Monarchs include absolute monarchs, constitutional monarchs, princes who serve as head of state, emirates, and sultans. I think that covers everything.

Amazing to see there are still so many monarchies still in existance today.

Interestingly the Queen of the UK is also the queen of Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Solomon Islands and Tuvalu. An area of 18.8 million square kilometres and 132 million people.

Also, Malaysia and Cambodia are the only two current countries where their monarch is elected from a selection of people with "Royal" blood.

I like the quiz, but I'm torn. This is like two quizzes in one - name the British territories and name other countries with their own monarchs.

I agree with above. Since the Commonwealth realms all have the same monarch, I really think that only the UK belongs on here.

Andorra is not a monarchy

@RS89, the quiz is countries that have monarchs. As she is the queen of Canada and PNG and New Zealand, etc., those countries have monarchs.

@snydrism - read my first comment; Andorra counts because it has two princes that serve as head of state in the same way as a monarch.

@xeju - none of these countries are territories of the UK.

would've thought that Iran would've been included because of the Ayatollah

@Rave - I thought about Iran (and the Vatican). I'll make them bonus answers.

Iran should absolutely NOT be a bonus answer. The Ayatollah is no more a monarch of Iran than Kim Jong-Il is a monarch of North Korea. If you want to include them, then change the quiz to "countries where some dudes have a lot of power." As someone with family members who were jailed and tortured to get rid of monarchy in Iran in the 1979 revolution, I find your inclusion of it, even as a bonus answer, extremely offensive.

Andorra is absolutely a monarchy as is the Vatican. Iran is most definitely not a monarchy it is a republic with a president. That said, the role of supreme leader is functionally very close to a monarch. I wonder if Thalia's relatives recognize that they went from the frying pan to the fire.
