These don't necessarily align with my feelings, but I certainly agree with some of them. Thoughts? Complaints?

The End absolutely needs to be in the top four. For me, it jockeys with TtLG for best overall, but I can see arguments for The Constant and the Pilot over it. Not crazy about three S5 episodes being in the top ten - IMO, that was the second-weakest season. The back end of S3 should have been better repped instead.
Jun 3rd, 2010 at 06:50 GMT
I agree about The End. I expected it higher, especially since it was the only episode IGN had given a perfect 10/10.
Jun 3rd, 2010 at 07:58 GMT
imo, the end doesn't even belong on this list. I think ab aeterno was arguably 2nd best behind the constant.
Jun 3rd, 2010 at 09:54 GMT
I would have expected the end higher. I was surprised dead is dead made the list. I would have had ONE season 2 in there at least (But it was my favourite season) - probably Lockdown which was iconic. I am not surprised at any of the other choices.
Jun 3rd, 2010 at 12:36 GMT
Few surprises on here, I thought Greatest Hits should at least be top 10 if not top 5.
Jun 3rd, 2010 at 15:44 GMT
I liked some of these (well all, but not all of them are top 10 for me). I would include in my list: All the best cowboys have daddy issues, greatest hits, the other 48 days, and two for the road.
Jun 3rd, 2010 at 15:48 GMT
I think the last 4 episodes of season 3 (The Brig, The Man Behind the Curtain, Greatest Hits, and Through the Looking Glass) should all be on the list. It was a sequence of amazing sustained quality. I agree with the high ranking of several other choices here, though not with Jughead, Pilot or The End.
Jun 3rd, 2010 at 15:53 GMT
Greatest Hits almost cracked the top 10, coming in at 14. The Other 48 Days was at 23, The Brig is 26, All the Best Cowboys have Daddy Issues is 33, The Man Behind the Curtain is 34, and Two for the Road is 69.
Jun 3rd, 2010 at 16:05 GMT
I'm not really a huge fan of their choices, but at least the top two is spot on.
Jun 3rd, 2010 at 16:29 GMT
No Stranger in a Strange Land? hah
Jun 3rd, 2010 at 16:36 GMT
Haha, Stranger in a Strange Land was dead last on the list.
Jun 3rd, 2010 at 22:55 GMT
I can't believe I didn't guess "The End." I loved it, but I knew there were many who hated it.
Jun 4th, 2010 at 21:23 GMT
Interesting there's nothing from Season 2 on here. Would have like to see the Long Con make it.
Jun 5th, 2010 at 16:29 GMT
Jughead and Dead is Dead are good, but they don't belong anywhere near this list. What about Exodus? Or There's No Place Like Home? Or Man of Science Man of Faith, The Brig, The Man Behind the Curtain? Overall, an okay list, but they rate season 5 too highly.
Jun 8th, 2010 at 06:09 GMT
impressive that they got the top two (for sure) right on the money!
Jun 8th, 2010 at 06:13 GMT
oh, and jeez...one of my faves is definitely "two for the road"...the shock appeal on the final minutes of that episode is ridiculous.

Good quiz, bad list (not necessarily the Top 10, but the list as a whole-Tricia Tanaka is Dead was 2nd worst, when that was one of the funnest episodes of the series). I think Ab Aeterno is overrated in general. It was well made, but it didn't really add anything to the story. I normally am not at all obsessed with answers over characters, but I want episodes centered on minor characters like Richard to be more explanatory. My main complaint with the episode is that it did nothing to show why Jacob's death meant anything to Richard. Their relationship was not depicted as close, and Richard did not seem to earnestly believe in Jacob's work; he only was shown getting beaten up and then asking for eternal life. And when, in an earlier episode, Richard wants to commit suicide out of despair from Jacob's death, I think that a more emotional connection should have been portrayed between those two, rather than him and his one-episode wife, Isabella. I liked "The End", but I can't agree with its placement in the Top 10. The way it ended how it began was awesome, and it was emotionally satisfying (although a lot of it could honestly be characterized as emotional pornography), but the on-Island plot was dumb. And, when the show ends by showing all the characters going into heaven, the entire plot of the show and the spirituality of the Island seem to be pointless. And Michael should have been in the Church! I'd still put it in the Top 20 or 30, though. And I agree with Kevin and dmalato2 in that there were too many Season 5 episodes there, especially since they didn't choose the better Season 5 episodes. Off the top of my head, my list would be: 1. Through the Looking Glass 2. The Constant 3. Pilot (Part 1, or both if you count them together) 4. Walkabout 5. The Candidate (I loved that episode and almost want to put it 4th). 6. The Shape of Things to Come and then I'm not sure

I'm sure all Sporclers care enough about my opinions on the show to read the rambling essay I wrote lol. I don't really know why I make such long comments haha
Jun 9th, 2010 at 06:01 GMT
Haha, I enjoy hearing everyone's opinions on it. As for Richard, I don't think his attempted suicide was because of an emotional connection with Jacob. I think it was because he had blindly put his faith in Jacob for all these years, fully believing he had a larger plan. After his death, that all seemed lost and Richard didn't see a reason to live anymore. Anyways, regardless of the rest of the list, I think I agree about The Constant. Gotta be my favorite.
Jun 9th, 2010 at 23:59 GMT
@brewcrew09: Yeah, you're right, I forgot that Richard had said his life now had no meaning since Jacob died. Still, I think that Richard's dedication to the Island should have been shown. I think that the episode is one of the better stand alone ones, though, and I would have liked it had I never seen the show. It really did feel kind of like a movie; Nestor's acting was awesome, and Richard's theme was BA.

hahahaha I just saw the URL, good job

The list was a real mess, with the one-hour-Michael-and-Sawyer-on-a-raft-special "Adrift" coming in on a higher place than the fan and critics favourite "Live Together, Die Alone" and the answers and great acting-filled "This Place Is Death". Also "Jughead" was IMO in no way better than "The Incident" and "This Place is Death".
Aug 15th, 2010 at 15:09 GMT
i personally liked the episodes two for the road, enter 77, the long con, the end, through the looking glass, the constant, and what they died for.
Aug 26th, 2010 at 14:19 GMT
well through the looking glass should totally be first, with greatest hits second but pretty good order otherwise. why can i not remember what episode the shape of things to come is??
Sep 3rd, 2010 at 19:26 GMT
no Deus Ex Machine and no Exodus. This list is meaningless.
Dec 26th, 2010 at 02:44 GMT
Jughead and The End shouldn't be in here imo. I'd rather have The Substitute, The Brig, The Man behind the Curtain, Greatest Hits or This Place is Death in the top 10.
Mar 6th, 2011 at 14:18 GMT
Horrible List, as it has been said Season 5 is getting way too much love (I consider season 5 the weakest). Also agree with the one above that Ab Aeterno is one of the more overrated episodes in Lost. I personally felt that the Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham was the most disappointing episode of the series. My 10- 1. Through the Looking Glass 2. Walkabout 3. The Constant 4. Do No Harm (most underrated episode) 5. White Rabbit 6. The Man Behind the Curtain 7. The Candidate 8. LaFleur (2nd Most underrated episode) 9. The End 10. Dr Linus. Greatest Hits, Three Minutes, Exodus, 316, Deus Ex Machina, Shape of the Things to Come, and Lockdown would be next.
