"More" is on here, but "less" is not. Suppose that would be us Americans' fault...

Good thing this quiz isn't based on most high school conversations. It would be an entirely different set of four-letter words.

It's interesting that in a quiz about the most common four letter WORDs, "word" is proving to be rather difficult to get. (27% at the moment)

I guess connected apostrophe words like "can't", "won't", "isn't", etc. aren't counted? Or is it just coincidental that they're not here.

Am I the only one that thought "Fart" would be in the top five?

Can't be done in the time allowed. Otherwise, this is a great quiz.

Groan on the ones missed. I'd say "like" may be the most used 4 letter word though; about every tenth word I hear young people using is "like"

I presume the figures for "them" doesn't include when it's used incorrectly in place of "those" as in "them people over there"?

Surprised to see words like word and side making the list while only, just, ours, four, five, and nine don't.

Surprised here and very didn't make the list.

Disappointed, but not surprised, that 'whom' didn't make the list.

such a simple, yet difficult quiz. I got 1/3 of my correct answers by looking up and down on this page, but clearly not enough to score well

Agree with @Azazello amd @Meltha, and also amazed not to find basic words such as such, does, goes, done, gone, must, want or especially went in this list. And also also!

When I ran out of ideas, I started typing four-letter words that appear in the directions and along the top and bottom of the page. It was surprisingly effective.
@palimpsest: Yeah, but "who" is only the 87th most common English word, so even if people used "whom" correctly I doubt it would break the top 100. Consider how far down "them" is from "they".

@palimpsest: Even if people used whom correctly, I don't think it would be used often enough to make the cut.

If this were Valley speak, "like" would be ranked 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
