You really ought to allow the singular form... for example I had entered trumpet but didn't get it because the quiz would only take "trumpets". Same thing with the bass... why is that plural when the other strings are singular?

Yeah I agree, for example it should allow "trumpet" as well as "trumpets". Plus the answer "cymbol" should be spelt "cymbal"

What about the French Horn?

I also tried trumpet, trombone, and french horn. Some of your answers are singular and some are plural. You need to accept both. Also I agree that the correct spelling is "cymbal." Also, I think that you should accept cello as an answer.

Well, the are the instruments in a Modern Orchestra. The Cello and the French Horn are not in a Modern Orchestra. The Four types are the Classical, Early Romantic, Late Romantic, and Modern.

1. Cello and violoncello are the same thing. 2. I don't know what source this is based on, or whether you have been to an orchestral concert recently, but there is a horn (which is the real name for french horn) in like everything ever written for the orchestra.

The cello is not in a modern orchestra??? What modern orchestra are you watching? No french horn either? hmm... boyle, forget the source, this is just plain wrong (coming from someone who has spent some time in a modern orchestar)

Need French horn (and horn as an alternate answer). Accept cello, and double bass.

Tuned gongs? Are you kidding? How about just gongs? Also castanets, guiros, and whips are far less common in orchestras than french horns, saxophones, marimbas, bass clarinet, etc. (none of which are included). Essentially, this quiz needs a lot of work.
