| Thank you for posting these. Funny thing is, when I heard this song when I was 21, I thought Paul was being very pessimistic when he said "that's all there is" in life is hello and goodbye. But as I've gotten older (I'm now 47) and have seen so many people who were so dear to me either move out of my life or pass away, I now know what Paul meant - that ultimately, hello and goodbye is all there is and that time really does hurry on. He knew this at 21; it took me until my 40's to find out he was right. Paul Simon is truly a visionary. |
