	Serbia didn't get it's independence from Serbia and Montenegro, Montenegro got it's independence from Serbia and Montenegro and Serbia is what's left of that and Yugoslavia. A more appropriate answer might be the Ottoman Empire. Or Yugoslavia, but Serbia and Montenegro probably isn't the correct answer.

	@Jordan117 It does not accept Bosnian as an answer because that is not an ethnicity, but rather a nationality (Bosnia & Herzegovina). Bosniak, on the other hand, is an ethnicity and describes the Muslim population in Bosnia & Herzegovina, and of course the ones which live inside Serbia's borders. Therefore, Bosniak = Muslim, whereas Bosnian = anyone from Bosnia & Herzegovina (also Bosnian Serb, Bosnian Croat).

	@CoolBeans It is generally accepted that Serbia got its independence from Serbia & Montenegro, despite Serbia was not looking for independence. The country became independent in 2006, which is of course the year when both countries split. I don't see how it would make more sense to say they got their independence from Yugoslavia, since Serbia & Montenegro was Yugoslavia's successor and was two countries put together (union) rather than Serbia alone.

	@kypzethdurron You are right, it's not a separate religion, but there are still many differences between say, the Catholic and the Orthodox faith. Eastern Orthodoxy is very important in the Serbs' eyes and is usually not to be mixed with the Catholics, Protestants, or whichever other Christian denomination.

	If you're going to be a stickler about the names of ethnic groups, should it be "Serb" instead of "Serbian", then?

	@LinuxLinus. I have been thinking about that but I came to the conclusion that it would be better to keep it as "Serbian", but I could change that if they majority of the people think it should be changed to "Serb" only. Perhaps this article can help you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Srbijanci

	Bosnian and Bosniak are different. Bosniaks are Bosnian MUSLIMS. Bosnians are people from Bosnia and Herzegovina regardless of religion.

	I am very well aware of the difference between a Bosnian and a Bosniak. The third largest group in Serbia, excluding the Albanians, is in fact the Bosniaks (Bosnian Muslims).

	I always thought Tesla was a Croat. Well, I think you should remove Monica Seles. You are obviously only talking about the country of Serbia that gained independence in 2006, Seles played for Yugoslavia in the 90s.
