| You have to be more consistent or more forgiving about middle initials: Why does the commonly-known "Chester Alan Arthur" fail, while "Richard Mentor Johnson", which almost no one knows or remembers, is compulsory? If you don't just accept last names (my recommendation, too), at least accept first and last names without middle names or initials (as well as with them). To add variations on the "Editing" page, add a slash plus the variant, as in "Alexander H. Stephens/Alexander Hamilton Stephens/Alexander Stephens". For a very rough, approximate comparison, see my http://www.sporcle.com/games/shakescene/together_again
Although it can be argued both ways, my own inclination would be to include a "none" line for T. Roosevelt as well as a Fairbanks line. And you should indicate in the "Notes" above the quiz that "None" should be entered for Veepless Presidents (or else just remove Tyler, Fillmore, A. Johnson and C.A. Arthur). |
