First "68" there should be 64.

While I haven't researched every election year, a list of all declared candidates would be incomplete without Tommy G. Thompson of Wisconsin (2008) and Thaddeus McCotter of Michigan (2012)

Thanks everybody - I'll check up on it. I just got tired of typing Stassen...

You're right - not sure why I had Florida there. Fixed now. Thanks.

I second on Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.), who was considered serious enough to include in the 2011 Iowa debates, if not later. Just so folks have some idea of your scope, perhaps you could cite a source such as Dave Leip's Atlas of Presidential Elections (which is on line and generally accepted) at the top of your quiz and/or indicate your criterion or criteria for inclusion or exclusion (running in a primary? widespread speculation? participating in a televised debate? nomination at a convention?) Otherwise five orange orbs.

Nice quiz. Are you going to do one for Democrats?

http://www.sporcle.com/games/bluewhite/all-democratic-presidential-candidates-since-1960 shakes, I tried to use candidates that actually declared, not just formed "exploratory committees" or were talked out. The task got harder the farther back I went, because until the primary system really got going, leading candidates would employ local favorite sons to drain support away from serious challengers.
