OK, everybody is wrong about the state thing. As far as Kentucky goes, 1) "Behind the Laughter" is non-canonical, and 2) in some reruns of the episode, a different state is mentioned. As for North Takoma, though it has been hinted on the show (by the use of the initials NT on a driver's license, for example), only one producer has ever claimed that North Takoma is the name of the state, and it's never been mentioned on the show, which means that this is also not canon.
