	Great idea. Nicely done, but Newark, NJ only has one team. Raleigh, NC only has one team. I'm guessing there are others like these.

	Yeah, you've got some inconsistancy...I noticed with the carolina teams. Both the Bobcats and Panthers are out of Charlotte. The Hurricanes are out of Raleigh. So by leaving out Charlotte on this list, you're counting the Panthers as a Charlotte teams even though there the Carolina Panthers. If you go by that metric, then the Carolina Hurricanes should count as a Raleigh team, and Raleigh should therefore be included here. I suggest you stick with where the teams actually play their home games...although that gets tricky with the NY teams since so many play in East Rutherford, NJ.

	the wild are the only team in st. paul and the rays are the only team in st. petersburg...plus the NY/NJ thing isnt a mess at all because giants nets and jets play in east rutherford which gives that more than one, yankees mets knicks islanders rangers all play in new york city (islanders kind of a stretch) and the devils play in newark by themselves...it has as much merit as the hurricanes argument

	St. Paul, MN should be on there. The Wild play there, while the other 3 teams play in Minneapolis. St. Paul and Minneapolis are two separate cities. Also, The Islanders do NOT play in New York (City). They play on Long Island - hence the team name. More specifically, they play in Uniondale, NY. Finally, Newark, NJ has only one team (Devils) until next season when the Nets move there.

	Yeah to kind of echo what everyone else has said, you need to figure out how to be specific with teams that are very close but not in the same city. Perhaps repackage this as a "What Professional Teams have no other pro teams within 50 miles" or something.

	I just want to add, that you cannot separate San Jose and not separate St Paul, St Pete, Newark, and Long Island.

	I think it works as is. Just say that these are metro areas with only one team, not cities - that gets you around all the technicalities of which exact city the teams play in. (San Jose is counted as a separate metro from Oakland/SF by the Census Bureau, so that's fine.) Otherwise you'd have to add things like the Patriots, which is annoying.

	If you are going to accept Raleigh for a team from "Carolina" than you have to have Foxboro/Foxborough for a team from "New England." That being said I am going to put on my Pat Verbeek Whalers jersey.

	raleigh is much farther away from charlotte then what foxboro is from boston, st paul from minneapolis, whereever the islanders play to new york, and anything in jersey so i really like what you have now

	As others have said, you need consistency. Then this would be a great quiz. Right now it's just good. Also, Florida Panthers are the only team to play in Sunrise, FL.

	All the answers on there right now are fine, but as others have said, you need more consistency. I would suggest not including teams named after a city that actually play in another (e.g. Rays, Pistons) but include those named after a state or region that are unique to their city (e.g. Wild, Patriots). Either way, I think the Islanders should be there since they may be named after the state and not NYC (couldn't find this information anywhere, though).

	Actually, if you specify that you mean metro areas you can get around most of the issues presented (Sunrise, New Jersey, the Twin cities etc.). Otherwise, good quiz.

	Actually the Dallas Cowboys built their super-sized stadium in Arlington, hence, the Texas Rangers are no longer the only team town. Also, maybe the quiz should then go by metro rather than city if suburbs are not going to be included.

	If you want to be technical about it, Pistons play in Auburn Hills. You gotta say "metro areas" instead of cities, otherwise this quiz becomes a mess.

	Given that one of the goldie-oldie quizzes on this site counts the Sharks in the Bay Metro Area for the purposes of the four-sport cities, I'm not entirely sure it's appropriate to separate it out here. Of course, that was always a bit silly, but I do think we should try to maintain consistent standards across Sporcle quizzes, especially if something is front-page worthy. With a couple tweaks on the wording or the answers, this one is.

	Metro areas is definitely the way to go, disregard whether or not the state, city or region is labelling the team. That being said, I think with the "metro area" title the current quiz is perfect.

	I don't think Canadian Cities should count in this. They have different big time sports, and most of those cities have another team. Canadian Football for example.

	I think you have to add Newark, Foxboro and Uniondale. Judging by the way you handled the Carolina situation, consistency would call for Newark and Uniondale. The Devils and Islanders are named for their state, not their city, and no other team plays in their city. The Patriots are named for their entire region, and no other team plays in that city. Good idea for a quiz though, just needs a few minor tweaks.

	I'd echo what every else said sabout metro areas. To be specific about cities would be a mess, or else then you'd have to include the Redskins (Landover, MD) and other surburban areas. But even if you do include metro area, I think Newark (Devils) would stand on its own because it's not really part of the New York metro area I believe.

	I think this is a great idea for a quiz, but you need to be strict about city limits in terms of which "cities" don't have more than one team. Otherwise it defeats the whole point of the quiz and doesn't reward people who really know that the patriots don't play in Boston, for example.

	Tampa Bay Rays play in Saint Petersburg and not in Tampa. Also, just an odd side note the Saint Petersburg Times-Forum is in Tampa and not in St. Pete. Isnt that wierd?!

	@ricestillfumbled: Raleigh is a little under 200 miles (driving) from Charlotte... I would say thats further than minneapolis/st paul and boston/foxboro

	The quiz is good as it is. But still don't understand why San Jose is seperated from San Francisco/Oakland, with Palo Alto/Stanford being in with San Jose, when Dallas is never separated from Fort Worth.
