| I'm always a bit wary of U.S. population sources that aren't the U.S. Census Bureau. I see that the source used data from the 2000 Census, but it's listing the top 20 of all places in the state, not just cities. Chalmette, Harvey, Laplace, Marrero, Metairie, and Terrytown are all just Census-Designated Places, which means that six of the actual 20 most populated cities in Louisiana got crowded off the list. It would be OK if the quiz specified all places in the state, not just cities, or if it removed the CDPs and replaced them with six cities. It's easier to catch mistakes like these if you just go to the Census's website, which is an authoritative source. http://factfinder.census.gov/servlet/GCTTable?_bm=n&_lang=en&mt_name=DEC_2000_PL_U_GCTPL_ST7&format=ST-7&_box_head_nbr=GCT-PL&ds_name=DEC_2000_PL_U&geo_id=04000US22 |
