I think you should specify which hall of fame you're talking about. I'd assume it's NFL, not college because that would be a small college list.

Really sad that they didn't let Jim Plunkett in the Hall of Fame, 1st round pick, Heisman winner, 15 year career, Super Bowl MVP, and only 2X Super Bowl champion QB not in the hall.

Um lets see here...Jim Plunkett career statistics: 164-198 TD to INT ratio, QB rating 67.5, win/loss record of 72-72

Barry Sanders went to Oklahoma, not Oklahoma State. Sooners fans will riot when they see that.

Such a shame that Barry Sander's career was wasted with the Lions. If he ever had an offensive line that wasn't garbage he'd be #1 in all time rushing.

Eventually Tim Brown and Jim Plunkett will join this list. I mean, if Joe Namath is in the HOF, then Jim Plunkett definitely could get in. Namath's stats are worse than Plunkett's, and Namath only won 1 super bowl.

@elgato10x: Namath is in the HOF because he was a major force in the NFL-AFL merger. He's not in based on his mediocre career stats. Plunkett was a journeyman QB who happened to take the snaps on 2 teams good enough to win the super bowl with him as QB.

@pita: exactly. I'm not saying Namath is more deserving than Plunkett, only that Plunkett is a long ways down the list of people who belong in the HOF. Guys like Ken Anderson have better numbers and guys like Ken Stabler won a lot more games

@robschulz: Doak Walker did go to Southern Methodist. There is a statue of him there. He was the biggest figure in football in the Dallas area. The Cotton Bowl Stadium was dubbed "The House that Doak Built" as he was twice the MVP of the game. Where did you get Southern Miss? Almost as dumb as the guy who thought Barry Sanders went to OU instead of Okie State.
