| A few minor comments on the way vh1 went about this: Eminem sold more albums than any artist from 2000-2009. So he of all artists deserved to have two songs in the top 100. "Stan" should've at least been on there in addition to "Lose Yourself."
"Bad Ramance" did not become popular until 2010, so Lady Gaga did not need to have 2 songs. If they weren't the two most popular artists today, Lady Gaga and Adele wouldn't have been as high as they were. The top 100 was predictably bad. Of course left off are some of the best songs from the decade by bands too Alternative for vh1, i.e. LCD Soundsystem, Wilco, Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Death Cab For Cutie, Silversun Pickups, etc. Other bad omissions incllude Sara Bareilles, The Roots, The Fray, Panic! at the Disco, My Chemical Romance, Snow Patrol, OneRepublic, Lifehouse, Rick Ross, The Game, Gym Class Heroes, 30 Seconds to Mars, Paramore. |
