@topcat37, I'd love for the times I've given all the vocab quizzes (3, 6, 9 and 12 minutes each) to make sense to everyone that takes them. But at this point, since we're already about to pass the halfway point of the alphabet, and two of them have been taken to the front page already with those times, I think the testing period to play with the timer was when I came out with the letter 'A' thirteen weeks ago, and that time is long past. I think at the same time, though, people like finishing the quizzes without feeling rushed, so it becomes more about actually knowing each of the words instead of multifacetedly testing your speed either. It's the vocab that needs most of the focus.
