Some knowledge of the Simpsons is required to complete the puzzle. All answers are recurring characters from the show. No special guests appear. Adjacent refers to all neighbouring cells, including diagonals. Surnames are only accepted when no one else shares the surname, or when attached to a title e.g. Chief Wiggum would be accepted, but Simpson would not. HINT: When Homer says everyone is adjacent to a core Simpson, he means everyone, including himself and all other core Simpson family members.

	This is my first attempt at creating a logic puzzle, so I'm not really sure if I've done it right. There is a step by step guide in the source link, which explains how the logic should work. Please let me know if the logic breaks anywhere, and I will attempt to fix it. I'm not very familiar with the recent Simpsons seasons so information which I thought was correct may have become incorrect since I last watched the show. I've included every character from this list - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Simpsons_characters - as mines. Let me know if you try anything which should blow you up but doesn't

	I got stuck after the first clue. I think you need to state for C3 that it is only the immediate family. Abe Simpson would seem to be a Simpson.

	Apu is American. Principal Skinner is not a teacher. The bigger problem is while this is a logic quiz, it is way too fact specific to make it a fun logic puzzle. There is way too much Googling involved, and that IMHO, does not make for a fun logic puzzle. I would suggest you dumb down the required knowledge. Having to know so many semi-obscure facts -- who Phil Hartman voiced, or who impersonated Clinton in treehouse of horrors or blue haired characters or all of Selma's ex-husbands -- is more conducive to a trivia challenge. On the plus side, the logic worked, the concept was fun, but the execution wasn't quite there.

	i think the C3 clue needs rewording again. there are more than 5 "simpson house residents" if you count animals

	@mexal: D3 clue had been fixed now. Thanks. C3 was only a temporary fix because I needed to go to bed and didn't have time to do it properly. It now refers specifically to the core family members. If people still think it is ambiguous I can leave a game note. @holl1re: Could you tell me who else you are talking about? The ex-husbands I can see are Sideshow Bob, Troy McClure and Abe Simpson. There is an episode where Patty briefly dates Skinner, but I can't find anything about Selma marrying him. @JPTizzle: I've re-worded B2 to be clearer. I will probably change the character in B5 and make Bart next to no staff members. Regarding the difficulty, I agree that the Phil Hartman step is quite difficult and the Kang/Kodos question will be a 50/50 guess for a lot of people. Both appear near the end of the quiz where I feel like the most knowledgeable players should be rewarded though. For the blue haired women, you only have to know that Luann van Houten has blue hair. Even if you don't know that, Milhouse's adjacent parent can only be one of 3 possibilities. Selma's marriages are all also quite well known episodes. Abe Simpson is probably the most difficult of these, but he is guessable with other logic in the quiz (purely by being Homer's parent, who is human and is male so could potentially have married Selma). Thanks for the suggestions.

	Just 2 cents in response to JPTizzle: I think there is room for two types of logic quizzes in the Sporcle universe: Those relying solely on the application of logic, and those combining logic and trivia. Since this quiz falls into the latter category, and is clearly advertised as "Simpsons Logic Puzzle", I think the goal IS to give Simpsons "experts" an opportunity to flex their muscles in a new way. Rather than simply answering trivia questions as in countless other quizzes, they also get to enjoy (or mutter their way through) the logical applications.

	Thanks to Simpsons curator AdmiralMaxtreme for helping to figure out a couple of possible ambiguities. The clues have been tweaked again to make them more solid. @needapausebutton: Thanks for your earlier help too. You've also managed to express the purpose of the quiz far more eloquently than I ever could. If the quiz was devoid of any Simpsons trivia, then there would have been no point theming it as a Simpsons quiz to begin with. The combination of both logic and Simpsons trivia is what makes it a logic puzzle for Simpsons fans. That being said, the Kang/Kodos clue was probably unreasonably obscure so I've made it a bit more lenient. @stencer: That is fixed now. Thanks for letting me know.

	I feel like I'm missing something here. After the first 2 clues, all we're given to go on is that everyone is adjacent to one of the 5 main Simpsons, and Mr. Burns is adjacent to Maggie. Your step-by-step guide states that from the first clue, we can determine that the 4 other main Simpsons are in B2, B4, D2, and D4, so Maggie is in D4. But isn't it equally possible to satisfy the first 2 clues by putting Maggie in E4, then the other 3 Simpsons in D1, A2, and B5? Or alternatively, by putting Maggie in D5, then the other 3 in A4, B1, and E2? As long as adjacent includes diagonals, I don't see why either of these options isn't a possibility; or is there something very obvious that I overlooked?

	@BluePikmin: Everyone must be adjacent to a Simpson. That is what you are missing. In the examples you've given, the Simpsons have all been isolated, without being adjacent to another Simpson. Maggie, Marge, Bart & Lisa must all be adjacent to Homer. B2, B4, D2 and D4 are the only spaces where all characters, including Simpsons can be adjacent to a Simpson.

	I'm just going to start calling Krusty "Ackbar" after that dirty little clue. Given that the "C" is already on the board and not acknowledged by you, you are obviously trying to trick people. Poor sportsmanship, that is. Fix that one and you'll have a really good quiz. As it is, I can't give it more than 4.

	Great idea. My only (slight) problem is what randomchaos mentioned above, it should be stated that Krusty in fact is in the quiz, not just that he isn't adjacent to Bart. Actually, there's one other thing too. Isn't Chief Wiggum technically also a Be Sharp, so Barney wouldn't be the only choice for C4? Or did they come up with the name only after Barney, I can't remember...

	Great quiz! Technically though, Carl's clue is incorrect: With Kang, Kodos and Santa's Little Helper, that's three non-human characters appearing in the quiz. Maybe Carl's clue should read something like "There are two boxes in this quiz containing non-human characters" or so instead?
