	Confession: I'm not actually a musician and I have no idea if this quiz will work. If it is impossible to work out what songs are from just a few bars at the beginning then I will take this down. It's just an idea I had ages ago and wanted to try. Also, I picked the source solely for the reason that it gave free samples, so they probably aren't totally accurate. Hopefully they're close enough. Fingers crossed this will work. Enjoy.

	This is a terrific concept, and I really hope it works for people who can read sheet music. (Not me.) It looks like it ought to. I do have to object to #4: "Hallelujah" is by Leonard Cohen. I know it's been through a lot of arrangements, so it's possible that the music you show here is Wainwright's version (though if I'm not mistaken, Wainwright was probably using Jeff Buckley's arrangement), but it'd be nice to give credit where credit's due.

	Yeah. I do know. I'd originally typed "Rufus Wainwright version" but it just looked weird. I might change it back. Buckley plays it on the guitar and this is the most common piano version I know. I had a listen to the Cohen version on Youtube and it definately sounded different, hence why I credited that particular sheet to Wainwright. On reading the Wikipedia article it is seemingly most closely based on the John Cale version - perhaps "various" would be the most appropriate.

	Great idea, but it's a bit hard, or at least it was for me. I did it with my guitar and I only got 3. And one of them was accidental; I thought #17 was #4. I had to take the quiz twice (and in a bit of a rush) to get to actually try them all, so I think you should give us 20 minutes. I'm not that good of a sheet music reader, though. I haven't read music regularly for about a year and a half, so I'm a bit rusty. Besides, as a guitarist, I've never read bass notes.

	I did have a feeling this quiz could be tremendously difficult but as I don't read music I wasn't too sure how long people would need. I might raise it up to the full 20 and gradually bring it down as and when people say there is too much time.

	Not bad as a concept, but I'd suggest a few things: 1) Do one quiz for pop music, one for classical. 2) Restrict yourself to piano pieces only. "Flight of the Bumblebee" and "Sugar Plum Fairy", for example, would look quite different in their original orchestral-score format. I'd also look for the most accurate possible sources. Sheetmusicplus isn't also the greatest, though many of these look okay -- as reductions. Cool concept, though, and one which deserves to be done more often!

	As a musician, I probably overthought this a little. The Daniel Powter choice isn't really a good choice of songs- there's nothing distinctive about it. It's the same chord over and over again with a somewhat distinctive rhythm and a bass line that doesn't really change much about the chord. Just not a good choice. Also, the Jerry Lee Lewis could be the opening riff to just about any rock and roll song. The version you have of chopstics I've never heard. The most familiar part comes in about 2/3 the way through. Same with Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, what you have shows the intro and not the main theme. As @gnatural said, I would do one classical one pop. Pop rhythms are very difficult when put on paper, and there's often improvisation. On the other hand, Fur Elise and Flight of the Bumblebee practically jumped off the page at me.
