@ baz...Oh no doubt there's a couple that you're not likely to get without looking at the clues. I wasn't suggesting one could get a perfect score. I couldn't get 100% even with the clues, as I'd never heard of Hey Ox Head Dog. But their 200+ song catalog only comes into play if you're talking about getting 100%. Anyone reasonably familiar with the Beatles can get about 16/20 by just running through the 35-40 most popular Beatles songs, which is easily doable in 6 minutes. It's just my opinion, but I don't think that should be possible.
I think a quiz like this is both better and more fun if you have to actually consider all the clues to get the answers. That's true of most (though not all) quizzes, in my opinion, but it's particularly true on this quiz where the ENTIRE fun of the quiz is in the clues. The whole fun is whether you can figure out the title from the nutty translation, why allow people to get any answers without doing that? If they can't get one they can just click next to move on.
Also, considering the depth of their catalog and the small selection represented in the quiz, I would not have included Torsion and Cry, which is a cover and so isn't a Beatles song in the same sense as the others (though no doubt their version is the most famous). |
