	The Northeastern Megalopolis is a loosely defined entity. For the purposes of this quiz, it includes the following metropolitan areas of the northeastern United States (i.e. all counties of these metro areas as defined by the US Census Bureau): (1) Manchester-Nashua, NH, (2) Boston-Cambridge-Quincy, MA, (3) Worcester, MA, (4) Providence, RI, (5) New London, CT, (6) Hartford, CT, (7) New Haven, CT, (8) Bridgeport, CT, (9) New York-Northern New Jersey-Long Island, (10) Trenton, NJ, (11) Philadelphia-Wilmington, (12) Baltimore, and (13) Greater Washington, DC. Peripheral Metro Areas such as Reading, PA and Atlantic City, NJ, while sometimes included in the definition of the Northeastern Megalopolis, have been excluded from this quiz. All census accepted place-types are accepted (i.e. cities, townships, CDPs), with the exception of the “town” designation in New York State. ALSO: all populations come the US Census Bureau and are for 2008, except * denotes the data is for the year 2000, while ** denotes the estimate is for the year 2009. Input is greatly appreciated.

	Great quiz. I would suggest adding the Springfield, MA metro area, since it is so intertwined with Hartford, CT (e.g., they share an airport between themselves and share suburbs along the Connecticut River) and only two or three municipalities would be added anyhow.

	I can't see anything from Long Island on the list, even though more than 7 million live there. Are all cities there too small, or do they miss out on some technicality?

	Levittown is not a township, it's a CDP composed of parts of three townships. I believe that the largest municipality on Long Island is Hempstead, which had a population of 53,915 in 2008 - just barely too small to be included.

	I'd add that if you were going to include Springfield, Mass., you should clearly include Reading, Pa., as well, since the latter is now actually part of the Philadelphia CSA.

	@cuendillar: I chose not to use the New York "town" division because it is a weak division. "Towns" in New York include many other lower forms of municipality, and these municipalities seem to be more important (I do not, nor have I ever, lived in New York, so if some one could explain "Towns" in New York to me, I'd appreciate it). As johnlk said, however, the largest actual municipality on Long Island is Hempstead (village, vs. Hempstead "Town"), and it is juuuuust too small to make it on the list.

	@johnlk: Thanks for the input! I've checked out Levittown, PA, and you are correct. It has been removed. Since I've added both the Springfield and Reading metro areas, however, its kind of a moot point, since Levittown gets bumped off anyway.

	BosNyWash is a cool place to be, it dies down a bit in mid-Jersey and eastern CTm but otherwise it really is one long ass snake of suburbs and cities. Just hop on i-95 in DC.
