	shouldnt san a (or sana) be acceptable for yemen's largest city? it is an acceptable alternate spelling and it is the version used in every capitals quiz on sporcle to date

	@DasFengster: There's no official definition of how people rate quizzes. Many people rate them based on how much they enjoy them and a difficult quiz with low scores often won't be enjoyed as much as an easier quiz, so will often get lower ratings. Also, as I write this, three hours after your comment, the game has still only been rated eleven times -- maybe the first few people were grumpy because they woke up too early?

	@davidr: I think all of Russia's largest cities are in Europe. Certainly the largest two are. I think Kuwait, Brunei & East Timor are not much more than city states. I got 61/126 - having seen the answers there's only about 6 more I might just possibly have got. I missed Kazakhstan's number 3 which is now a twin town to the town I grew up in & where I still work, I didn't realise it was that big!

	I disagree with the omission of Russia and Turkey. All of the Turkish cities given in the Europe quiz were are in Asia (apart from half of Istanbul) so should never have been included in the Europe quiz. On the other hand, Russia's three biggest cities are all in Europe. Why not include Russia's three biggest Asian cities in this quiz? And where are Brunei and East Timor?

	@Statto: Sorry for the confusion: I deleted my comment and completely rewrote it but you'd obviously already started replying by then. Kuwait, Brunei and East Timor are definitely not city states — Brunei is about 5,700km² (a bit smaller than Delaware); East Timor's 15,000km² (Connecticut-ish) and Kuwait's 17,800km² (New Jersey-ish). The maps in the CIA World Factbook show that there are other cities, besides the capitals. The comments at the top say that Ben couldn't find any good data for Kuwait.

	@DavidR - I think asking for Russia's 3 biggest Asian cities would undermine the purity of this quiz. I think a country should only appear in one of these continental quizzes. I think one of the reasons Turkey is often 'lumped-in' with Europe is because it competes in European sporting events, wants to join the EU and competes in Eurovision! Having checked out World Gazetteer both Brunei & East Timor appear to have 5 places with populations >10,000 and are thus more than villages. Therefore, perhaps they should be in this quiz even if only the capitals are big enough to constitute what a British person would instinctively call a city.

	@Statto: Given that the `cities' in Andorra, San Marino and Liechtenstein are little more than villages, Brunei and East Timor should certainly count. I guess I'd be happy with Russia only being in the Europe quiz if Turkey were only in this one. Don't put any weight on Eurovision, though: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Israel, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia have all entered the Eurovision song contest at least once.

	Should be able to get a third of these just by knowing capitals. Only Pakistan, Myanmar (Burma), and India's Capitals are not on the list. With India all you have to do is drop the 'new'. And The old capital of Myanmar (Burma)is on the list. I did notice that Yokohama is listed second (over Osaka) for Japan but in the Most Populous Cities of the world quiz, Osaka is on it and Yokohama is not.

	I would like to thank Sid Meier's "Civilization" for helping me with some of those old Silk Road cities like Tashkent and Samarkand -- had never heard of them until I started making those "Civ" settlements!
