	Well I thought I had done really badly on this one, turns out I was in the 92nd percentile! This just shows how much names have changed in the last 130 years. Really insightful quiz, thankyou. (Also, Clarence is just an amazing name!)

	Lots of these names have had comebacks over the years. There were lots of Emmas and Lauras around when I was a kid in the 80s, and Ella and Grace have had comebacks more recently. Somehow, though, I can't see a big revival any time soon in the use of Gertrude, Bertha or Clarence. Which is a great pity, because those names rock. (Although, maybe all those twits who think President Obama was born in Kenya will start using 'Bertha' as a baby name? Probably not, the pun is too complicated for them.)

	Wow, I continue to be ridiculously bad at these, but I still like them! Does anyone else just blank out and start going through the alphabet trying to come up with names for each letter? (And then not make it past N before panicking about the lack of time?)

	Great quiz. It seems 1880's names for women are harder to guess accurately.Go figure. I just gotta say this: my great Aunt Bertha was tall and slim and considered a beauty in her day(c.1890)Our perceptions may be altered by the nickname Big Bertha, which belonged to a huge cannon.

	@ubk: Because sons are named for their fathers and grandfathers, the names tend to repeat more. No matter what decade it is, there always are certain male names that show up. People seem to be more creative with their daughters' names. What threw me off is the number of diminutives in the female names (Carrie, Nellie, Bessie, Annie, Jennie, etc). I expected the Victorians to be more formal.

	@Penny: I totally went for Little House names too! I recently reread the books so they were fresh in my mind. Thank goodness for Laura's friends Minnie Johnson (and her brother Arthur!) and Ida Brown, and even that mean old Nellie Oleson! For the boys I tried a lot of presidents :-)

	Practically the entire Weasley family is on here, except for Ron and Ginny. That's probably the only reason I got "Arthur" - I guessed all the others, and figured "why not?"
