| I don't know if I agree with SlowHandEC88... yes, Angus Young only really uses a limited number of chords, but there is something to be said about the way he recombines them to form different riffs that each hold their own as a unique entity. A lot of early 20th century music (from celebrated composers) explores this idea as well, so I don't know if that is really a just criterion for disqualifying him from this list. Also, Cobain pioneered an entire sound of music, much like Beethoven did in his day. While Cobain may not have been that gifted in the technical sense, he sure understood a lot about music as an artistic medium, not just as a means to get famous. So, it all boils down to what criteria you value more in a guitarist. If you are so turned off by this quiz, why don't you make your own top 10? This list isn't quite what mine would look like either, but I can at least respect asdasdasd's choices. |
