	@Yvonne ... when a Pitcher hits the batter in the head with the ball that is called a beaning, hence the pitcher beans the batter. Bean is slang for head.

	Excellent! Love the 3-4-5-6 progression ... love that each of the ladders has the same number of rungs ... love the common theme pairs. Truly outstanding. @expat: Excellent explanation for the meaning of "beans" in the baseball context. Although a baseball fan since childhood, I actually got that one before even seeing the clue. Once I got "jelly", I just knew "beans" was going to be the bottom rung! Five orbs ... six if they had 'em.

	@bwarg: First think of two or more thematically related words with the same number of letters. Then, starting from one, try changing one letter at a time to get to the next, with each step along the way a decently clue-able answer. Sometimes it's really tricky; other times everything just falls into place. Anyway, once you get the ladder of words, then make up clues for them. I like to use a smattering of easy clues and somewhat trickier clues. If there's a word that's a bit obscure, then I go for as straightforward a clue as I can. Last piece of advice, and perhaps the most important: Test your quiz several times before posting it, to make sure you work the kinks out of it. (This goes for all quizzes, of course.) Have fun with it!
