A really good maze, the only one that may need tweaking for the non-Americans is the party bag, maybe you could give it a piratey clue me hearty !

@Flick - Thanks for the heads-up on noting the U.S.-centric clue! I've been debating in my mind what to put for that one, so I'll try the one you suggested.
@sadash - See the label at the top that tells you to reach the "FINISH"? You reached the predetermined "FINISH" point, so it completed the rest of the puzzle to let you know you won!

Thoroughly enjoyed it! Only suggestion is to add a warning that answering "reed" will finish the quiz and fill in the rest of the answers

You should really fix the reef thing. I don't understand why it auto-completes everything even though I missed like 3 or 4.

It's fine that the top-center clue finishes the quiz, but there should be some warning for those of us who like to solve the whole thing first.

Thanks for all your kind comments and constructive criticisms! I've thrown in a few more lines of the puzzle that warn you of the FINISH line once you reach the proper point!

What does "leaf" have to do with "page"?

Leaf is another word for page in some circles. I only know this from doing crossword puzzles.

Missed flea. I guess the clue meant an annoyance to an actual pet and not pet peeve as in a personal annoyance.

...how? How did I stare at "leaf" and "pet peeve" and fail to get "flea"? I have spent the past five days attempting to de-flea my two new cats. I see fleas writhing in flea combs when I close my eyes. How the hell did I miss that simple four-letter acronym, the bane of my week?

Excellent word quiz, kudos. I was toying with a 'hokey-cokey' word game. In, Out, In, Out, Shake it all about - where you change the inside letters, the outside letters etc before anagramming... This is much better and far less confusing than what I was attempting.

@Giantsgiants - leaf has always been a synonym for page - leaflets, looseleaf paper, leafing through a book, etc.

@Brennan, the question mark at the end of the clue for flea is commonly used in crossword puzzles to show that the answer is sort of a pun.

Malt is added to shakes or floats. It's an ingredient, not a type of drink.

Hanging the whole ladder on a single actor's last name is not a good idea. Put the proper nouns in a dead-end, so real words can keep the continuum going.

@slamb: A malt is a drink because after you add the ingredient, it becomes a malt instead of a shake...On a menu, you ask for a chocolate malt (with malt ingredient) or you ask for chocolate shake

Malt in that context is unknown to me. Is this an Americanism? (I would have got 'soda' as that is better known across the Atlantic). I guessed a random word and got lucky.// Then I got stuck on the other drink - tang - I presume this is a brand name? Again, never heard of it.

@kw_hanna, actually, after you add malt to a shake, it becomes a "malted." When we ask for a "chocolate malt," we're asking for a "chocolate malted," just shortening the word. However, it's a silly thing to complain about. If one knows what "malt" is used for, one should have no problem figuring out the word for this game.

Well, in Europe we mostly use malt to brew alcoholic drinks. Never heard of it being used in conjunction with ice cream.

Triffid - I'm with you ... Malt, to me, is a whisky that has not been blended with any others. Tho I do understand that, as with countless other words in this language, it has more than one meaning :o)

Personally, I like Chutes and Ladders better.
