A parenthesis is called a round bracket? Really? Kind of a stretch.

That was also my downfall. Kept trying "year long" ... very fun quiz though!

In this part of the world (the entire western hemisphere) the lesser track on a 45 rpm record was called the B SIDE. I have never heard it referred to as the FLIP SIDE.

the year-round-bracket section is crap. No one calls a parentheses a "round bracket". why not just make it "curved l" or some other made up word.

top dog used far more than top banana...car jack is when someone steals your vehicle...buster brown is a shoe brand...a road that joins a thoroughfare would be "exit ramp" or perhaps "frontage road"...I've never heard of "pea green soup"...and as mentioned above "round bracket?!?"...otherwise - nice quiz...

Boob tube is common usage in the UK. Surprisingly I guessed that might not be the sporcle answer...

It took me awhile to understand the directions, (wasting valuable time, rounded bracket goes here). But quite enjoyable. I was a typing fool during the last minute when the correct answers were coming to me. I always heard it as the "flip side"

I never knew a flip side was anything other than what you catch someone on.

Angle brackets , square brackets [], curly brackets {} and, yes, ROUND brackets (), are all terms I've heard, usually in situation where each is used to denote different types of classification, such as programming. Yes, it's arguably obscure (but then, most punctuation terms are). No, it's not "made-up", or something "no one calls" a parenthesis.

I was hoping this quiz would wrap around and the last answer would overlap with the first.

Never heard of a round bracket, and I always heard the term B-side not flip side.

I'm afraid the clues for the 'bracket-buster-brown' sequence meant nothing to me. But I am familiar with the expression 'flip side', although it's very old-fashioned.

My only quibble: I've never heard a single person refer to a parenthesis as a "round bracket." Ever.

I've heard square, curly, and angle brackets, so it doesn't surprise me that "round bracket" is a possible term. I mean, apart from "year long" and "year round", what else means annual?
