I stopped playing 30 seconds in after attempting "Bad Lieutenant 2," "Port of Call," "Bad Lieutenant 2 Port of Call New Orleans," "Port of Call New Orleans," and "Bad Lieutenant 2 Port of Call." These are all either accurate titles or decent permutations of the title, as opposed to the accepted answer, "Bad Lieutenant," which is the name of a movie starring Harvey Kietel that Nic Cage isn't even in.

Great quiz! This is Nick Cage in a nutshell http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_x5p9ZtlEpc

Rarely known for sublety, guess Nick never heard that "less is more". Wonder if any scenery is left after he chews it up and spits it out.

I don't even care that I only knew 3 of them. I really just wanted to see his faces
Oct 1st, 2012 at 17:55 GMT
He should close his mouth more often.

Amazing thing is, half of these are actually good movies.

Truwarier: how could you have tried "bad lieutenant 2" if it gives you the answer by just typing "bad lieutenant"?

Thank god Conan O'Brien raised my awareness of the new Terror Alert System so it would help me with this Sporcle quiz.

Beanheadmcginty: I guess I don't type that slowly. And glad to see it now accepts Bad Lieutenant 2.

Love the URL for this quiz :)

Try doing all the faces. It's fun. If you really want to have a good time, add the sounds too.

That was the plan. To give you five globes. Well, you got them.

Whether or not you hate the guy, you gotta admit he's committed.

Wow, now I know how diverse of an actor he really is.

This quiz has the rugged smoky features of a cunning cigar store Indian and eyes that sparkle and pierce the soul of women old and middle-aged alike.

@eab21 true but last time i checked this wasn't a quiz about her so if i was to write that i'd look like an idiot

@jelatinMAN: or, from most of these faces looks as if he should, or at least might be a candidate for that. Are these really the faces of a guy who, when he won his (deserved) Academy Award, in pre and post interviews constantly talked about being in a "Zen" moment? Doesn't look very "Zen-nish" to me.

I don't think you will find may actors who have been in as many really excellent films (Lord of War; Adaptation; Leaving Las Vegas; Raising Arizona; Matchstick Men; Kiss of Death; Red Rock West, and as many films that were absolute affronts to the medium (The Wicker Man; Bangkok Dangerous; Ghost Rider 2; The Sorcerer's Apprentice; Drive Angry; Season of the Witch).
Yes, every actor has their highs and lows, but his are just so extreme. When you throw in this perfectly enjoyable but mindless actioners (Face/Off; The Rock; Con Air; The Fast and the Furious) and his lighthearted family friendly stuff (National Treasure 1 & 2; The Family Man; The Weather Man; Peggy Sue Got Married; Honeymoon in Vegas) and then a few films with high aspirations that didn't quite work (8mm; Bringing Out the Dead; Captain Corelli's Mandolin; Windtalkers; Bad Lieutenant)...it's really been quite a career. And he's not even 50 yet. Here's to 20 more years of a wildly divergent career!

I completely agree with moviegoer74. However, did you mean Gone in 60 Seconds instead of The Fast and the Furious?
Oct 3rd, 2012 at 05:03 GMT
Nicolas Cage is a masterful actor when he tries to be, like in Lord of War, Adaptation, or Moonstruck (unfortunately haven't seen Leaving Las Vegas yet). People have mistaken his exaggerated, manic style of acting for bad acting, when really it's just a deviation from the modern paradigm. Cage understands that even more realistic movies aren't reality, and his performances embrace the artificiality of cinema.

I only got National Treasure, best movie out of all of these
Oct 3rd, 2012 at 15:58 GMT
@beneboi24...lol. I definitely did mean Gone in 60 Seconds. Even further evidence that it fits into the "perfectly enjoyable but mindless actioner" category.

I also really like Knowing, great special effects and intriguing story. I hope it can't really happen! Enjoyed this quiz very much.
