good quiz-- makes you wonder why some of them are in the Hall of Fame and there are players who had way over 2000 hits that are not in. There is an excuse for 3 of them-- Doby, Robinson and Campanella all played in the Negro Leagues before making it to MLB.

I like this quiz, good job. Kiner and Wilson are in for their power - Kiner since he led the league in HR a bunch of years in a row, and Wilson for 191 RBI in 1930. Chance is in also for managerial contributions. Some of these guys are definitely mistakes, however, notably Youngs and Schalk.

MattD, I agree with you on Youngs, however, not on Schalk. Ray Schalk was the Ozzie Smith of Catchers in his day. While his stats may be poor compared to more modern catchers, if he were playing today, I have no doubt he would be winning gold gloves by the bunches. Thanks for your comments.
