Great quiz idea. Too bad so many of these cities aren't well known enough.

Just wondering why the English name is used for Cologne but not others?

Why is New York a bonus answer? The name of the city IS New York, seven letters, NOT New York City.

Bizarre why Cologne (as a bonus) is actually higher than one of the answers. If it's because of the German name, then other non-English names should be used, e.g. Munchen from the same country.

Lyn_Marie is correct. The only reason the "City" is often added is to distinguish the city from the state.

@ peanut4: I thought of Munich, but I don't think it makes the list regardless.

Excellent quiz but you are not consistent. You use Jaffa for one quiz and tel aviv for another, I am crying foul. Sorry, can't agree with ny being a bonus. Great quiz but not with out faults

New York City never had 18 million inhabitants--it has about 9 million. Chicago also does not have 8 million, it has about 2 million. Could you perhaps be confusing city populations with state populations?

@Rogelio: metro populations, which are much better for comparisons than wherever some city planner drew the city line.
