this sporcle is immaculate...zephos the long island sound is as much a part of the atlantic ocean as david lee is part of the knicks (as in the heart and soul son)...if this doesn't get legitimated im boycotting sporcle

Long Island Sound is as much a part of the Atlantic Ocean as the Gulf of Mexico is. Incidentally, Connecticut also touches Fishers Iland Sound (and probably Block Island Sound) at its easternmost extremity.

To straighten things out, an ocean includes all gulfs, bays, sound, straits, seas, ANYTHING that consists of salt water and touches an ocean or one of the above.
