| Thanks for the comments, all. This is the first quiz I've made on here. Last time I was at my parents' house, my Dad told me that there are only six current Championship teams that have never played in the Premier League and I had a bit of fun guessing what they were. I went to Sporcle, hoping to find an all-time version and found nothing. So, here it is. And regarding the title, I'm fairly sure that fans of the likes of S****horpe and Doncaster would like me calling them 'almost' Premier League (I remember the latter getting stuffed at St. James Park in 1998!). I was originally going to have the third column say how 'almost' they were but eventually decided that the most recent season was a much better hint. Five of these teams have made the play-offs at the second tier in this time (plus one in the 1991-92 season), three of them have made the play-off final. Poor Preston have played in the play-offs four times and the final twice but never made it. It's also interesting that Notts County and Luton played in the First Division the year before the Premier League started, Luton were just a win on the final day away from not being on here. |
