| @HMYKM, I don't understand how my suggesting that cot be accepted for yot is inane, I assume you're just being glib. A cot is a bed, generally used for temporary and portable use, but definitely something that could be in a house. Also, I checked the "reference" and didn't see any mention that yot specifically rhymes with pot or vice versa and I don't have a copy of this exact book to read through and check. As to your comment about decluttering the comment section, I already wrote that all these comments are just people's opinions. Just because 6 people out of the entire user community of sporcle doesn't like it doesn't mean that it should be covered up. I mean does it really declutter the comment section? You still see a line that says "comment below threshold"
@shawnoc, yeah I would agree with your examples. I guess my gripe with people who vote like that are that I don't get why they care so much or get angry/perturbed enough to vote it down. I mean if someone posts that they did it 12 seconds, who cares? The person is excited they were able to complete the quiz so quick. If you saw a kids test on a fridge that got an "A", would you say good job, or would you say stop bragging? And, just because it does get voted down, why remove it? I mean it's clear that people don't like braggarts on this site, but so much that they must remove their comments? that's a bit too much for me. Sometimes people just want to feel like that useless information that they obtained from reading the twilight series 10 times or watching every Simpsons episode came in handy or made them good about it for once... Who are we to tell them they're jerks for feeling good about themselves. |
