| Thank you all for the kind comments and ratings. I've changed the column headings and added a definition at the top so hopefully things are a little clearer. Also, I've added the Wikipedia link to demonyms as a source as it has all of the above on its list or at least somewhere on Wikipedia. Unfortunately there's only room for one source, so I went with the one that was the most broad. "Sydneysiders", for example, is also used on the official City of Sydney website and a quick Google search turns up an article on About.com outlining the history of the term. "Barbadian", "Indianan", and "Weegies" have been added; after some consideration, I've decided not to add "Habitants" because, while similar, "Quebecer" and "Habitant" are not quite interchangeable. If you feel that this is good enough to be published, I would be much obliged if you would nominate it. As for sequels, I might just leave that up to somebody else. :) |
