	I like how some of the tasks these heroes did are so great (Theseus slaying the Minotaur) that they don't need to mention heritage (Theseus is Poseidon's son), they get by on pure talent. (Yes, this is coming from someone who never forgave Hercules for the whole Hylas-incident).

	Weren't pretty much all of them the bastard children of one of the gods, Bing? Perseus and Pegasus both are bastards sired by Zeus and Poseidon (respectively).

	Caramba: Yes. He raped Medusa (before she was transformed) in Athena's temple (according to one version of the story). Pegasus and Chrysaor were his offspring through Medusa. Arion was another horse-creature fathered by Poseidon. One of Poseidon's symbols was the horse...mostly for the image of white horses on the waves of the sea, and not because he littered the countryside with them (I presume).

	I think a bonus question should have been. "Recently developed mythological Greek character who was a son of Zeus, and led a crusade to destroy all of Olympus." Answer being Kratos from God of War of course.

	I guess this tale wasn't noteworthy enough to describe his feats: "Don't you know the story of Hercules and the lion?" "Is it a Bible story?" "Yeah, probably. Anyway, once upon a time, there was a big mean lion who got a thorn in his paw. All the village people tried to pull it out, but nobody was strong enough! So they got Hercules, and Hercules used his mighty strength, and...bingo! Anyway, the moral is, the lion was so happy, he gave Hercules this big...thing...of riches." "How did a lion get rich?" "It was the olden days!"

	When I get my own classroom, I am sooooooo littering my classroom with books of Greek and other mythologies. I spent the summer reading up on a lot of Greek mythology as well as dabbling in some other mythology. Love it.

	@lanni: 1) Just because you leave someone, doesn't mean they're not your wife. 2) Not all heroes abandon their wives. Just Jason and Theseus for the most part. Maybe Heracles, but that's questionable.

	you shouldn't accept hercules as an answer for heracles, it's the same person, but it's the roman name, so it has no place in a quiz on "figures of greek mythology"
