It would be nice if it would reveal the author when you get the right answer. But this quiz was quite fun otherwise.

Great quiz. It was tough - I had more success getting the authors then thinking of their books. I would love to see a follow-up!

When we were reading some of these in school, my teachers would always refer to them on the board by the initials (as in, assigning HW). I never though it would come in handy like this.

RH should really be credited as RAH. Every single book of his I've seen credits him with a middle initial.

Yikes, hard, but great to see a literature quiz with no Potter, LotR, Twilight - pretty well all of which I have read, but there are lots of quizzes here featuring them!
Kind of fun taking advantage of Sporcle shortcuts and just typing "Lion Witch Wardrobe" or "Old Man Sea"

Sorry, if you wanna put Lewis, you'd better include LotR too. Oh yeah TLTWATW, great book, if you're 10.

I must play all the good quizzes 'cause I play them before they are verified and then they are on the front page! None of mine yet, though. I'm kinda sad about it, but I'm sure these have been on in awhile. I think I have some good ones - Christmas Songs by Initial and restaurants in television shows.

Very good quiz...I would like to see further sequels too, since you've barely scratched the surface of good literature. I also like the lack of Rowling et al. of modern writing. I think Lord of the Rings is legitimate though, especially if you're going to put the Narnia books. Still to come: Eyre(s), Hardy, Wharton, Shelley, Angelou?

I enjoyed this a lot and it was tough. I think it would be improved if the works listed had some connection. For example, if they were all classic novels, or all by women, or all science fiction, or all published in the same era, or something like that. The stretch from one of the all-time great novels (PAP) to a relatively little known horror novella (ATMOM) was pretty wide for my tastes.

Maybe consider taking "Classic" out of the title. Just a suggestion. Good quiz though, one of the tougher ones on here that I didn't feel I had no business even looking at.

Very fun quiz! I wasn't disappointed at the lack of LotR because of the common abbreviation (though I did get AQOTWF because we abbreviated it similarly when we read it in English). There were also a few I recognized but never would have come up with in time (e.g., TMIAHM). Agreed that it would be easier with a narrower genre to think in. Would love to see a sequel!

I liked it! My only suggestion would be to add, in parentheses, the author's name when an answer is correctly guessed (or at the end for the ones I didn't get).

It's frustrating to recognize the author from their initials and then realize you don't know what book is being referenced! Also I agree THHGTTG shoulda been here. Good quiz.

You might want SACD instead of ACD. I've always known him as Sir ACD. Although nice quiz. love the inclusion of mostly classic literature that everyone would know, and not tons of modern books.
