Do they really count as a BCS school if their football team doesn't play in the BCS conference . . . alla Georgetown, Villanova, etc.?

Shouldn't UMass not be on here? They appear on no official NCAA records right? John Calipari's a good guy...

@wasting Oh calipari, the Vacater. Memphis in 2008 officially doesn't belong either. But a great quiz. A couple I missed I feel like a bonehead for (Houston? Doh!), but there are a couple I would've never got.

I can't stand all the people who say the BCS is only in football. What the hell else are we supposed to call them? They're still the six prestige conferences in NCAA basketball; why not call them by an actual name (BCS) rather than "the Big Six" or some other stupid name like that?

@Moomba, because Bowls make no sense whatsoever in basketball.

Villanova is not in a BCS conference. BCS applies only to football. Villanova is in the Colonial Athletic Association, which is not only not a BCS conference, it's I-AA. And that's even before you get into Georgetown, St. John's, Seton Hall, etc. If you want to exclude teams from the power conferences, titling it differently would be the way to go.

So then what would you call them? I'm not opposed to calling them something else, but what other name fits that isn't just some stupid nickname? "Power Conferences"? If that's the case I could make a case that the Atlantic 10 is a power conference since it almost always has 3-4 teams in the tournament. "Big Six"?

I understand the distinction; I go to an FCS school (which appears on this list) myself, which is primarily why I made the quiz. As Moomba points out, I used BCS simply for clarity. You may disagree with that, but you understood what I was talking about when you were taking the quiz, no?
