The Rules: All answers in this quiz have N-E-W somewhere in their name. The U.S. Cities column is ranked by population and is city proper, not metro area. The islands are ranked by area. All other columns aren't ranked at all. If you see any mistakes or things to add, please let me know.

Good quiz! I kept expecting to see "Nova Scotia" under "Canadian Provinces/Territories", since "Nova" means "New". But then again, I hadn't read the rules first.

Huh...never knew that "nova" meant "new". This has good bonus answer potential. (hint hint)

Like the "Nova" Scotia bonus; you're on shaky ground with Newark though. It's not New Ark, it's named for Newark, Nottinghamshire, UK. Maybe move to bonus?

And Newport News is obviously not named after a place called Port News. But it doesn't matter. They have N-E-W in their names, which is all the quiz asks for.

Can you change 'country rank' to something like 'population rank' and for islands 'area rank', as it doesn't make much sense as it is.

@starburst: I tried to only include categories with 2+ "members" in them. If people can come up with many more places that contain "New", then maybe I'll create a sequel.

Great quiz! You could add a couple things.. New South Wales (as mentioned above), but also New England (Six northeastern U.S. states or a region in Australia). and just for fun you might add 'New New York' (from Futurama)

maybe put in Nunavut as a bonus answer for Canada as well. I know it doesnt technically have the letters 'NEW' in it, but its still good for a gag answer!

For "new" (but not for "n-e-w") you could add the two islands of Novaya Zemlya, in Russia. They're also called North and South Island (but in Russian), but more commonly just called Novaya Zemlya, and they're the 30th- and 41st-largest islands.

Add New England somewhere. Also, as bonus answers please include new spain and new france. (They used to exist)

As a follow up quiz, maybe have places that have "new" in their names, but in other languages, so places like Nova Scotia, Porto Novo, Novaya Zemlya etc. could be included (could still keep New Brunswick, as it's also officially Nouveau-Brunswick).
