Gefilte fish is eaten on most holidays and Shabbos. Great quiz, though.

Benjid, the "u" sound comes before the "o" sound. it's not a matter of differing transliterations. (as for me, why did I forget about the existence of Shavuot?)

Gefilte fish confused me as well, for that reason. And I didn't realize that Shavuot was a dairy-eating holiday; my family wasn't that observant, growing up.

Wine only on Shabbas? Have you ever attended a Simchas Torah celebration among the Chassids? Or how about Pesach? In fact, virtually every holiday. In our house, the basics of any holiday are the following: They tried to kill us, we fought back and won, now let's eat and drink.

yeah, wine kind of goes with pretty much every holiday - on purim, after all, you're supposed to get so drunk that you can't tell the difference between mordechai and haman.

Great quiz! Be sure to allow for alternate spellings of all the holidays. Some people spell Rosh Hashannah two Ns (or maybe that is just me).

It would be interesting to have some other food-related observances that are also related to Jews and Judaism. Mimouna is a North African Jewish holiday celebrated at the end of Passover. Also, Yom Haatzmaut, when many Israelis eat grilled meat.

Sorry to be "that goy," but a note like "some holidays are repeated" might help some. I didn't bother guessing "Pesach" for the seder plate because I'd already used it on the matsoh.

Kinda wish the Pesach one wasn't given away with the writing. But I guess most people would probably get it anyways. On another note, I can't wait for some hamentashen...definitely makes Purim my favorite holiday :).

Shouldn't Tisha B'Av also be accepted for the "No Food" picture? Since it also involves fasting.

I understand why people would complain about the gefilte fish because they eat it on other holidays, but this quiz is about what it is commonly associated with. Pomegranites aren't just eaten on Rosh Hashanah, but it is a traditional food. Blintzes are common at breakfast and Bar Mitzvahs, but the holiday it is associated with is Shavuot because of the dairy.

People are going to complain about gefilte fish as long as it exists, whether it's on this quiz or not.

I dunno, the blintzes look just like the Kosher-for-Pesach ones I get from the grocery store.

If you are going to include tu bishvat in the quiz you should accept tish'a b'av, the seventeenth of Tammuz or any other fast. Kreplach (meat dumplings) however are a staple pre yom kippur food

Pomegranates are often depicted as the symbol for Tu Bishvat along with trees obviously, so you should give that as an alternate answer

Just as a point of interst, many people DO NOT eat gefilte fish on Pesach. The first thing I typed in was Shabbos. Then, I found myself going through every single holiday. And wine fits for everything, too.
