Why is Sacramento the most typed-in by nearly ten points?

@mantunes339: Probably just because it's in California. Anyway, I only managed to get 19. I'm not good at 60-second blitzes. :

The problem I always have with the 60 second quizzes is I always think of three or four answers at once and then freeze. Or I type and the spelling is all wrong.

@mantunes339: Because most people will start on the left and work their way east when naming states or capitals. This was unfortunate for me because I spent too many seconds mistyping *and* misspelling Sacramento (rolls eyes). I got half. And yeah, I'll probably try again. :)

@BonnieH: That doesn't explain why Honolulu and Juneau are so low. :p I got 27 and a half: "Augu..." *OVER*

As an addendum to Bonnie H, I think people start at the left, then realise they don't know any others round there, and head elsewhere... I did do Charleston and Cheyenne tho despite only getting 18 so seem like it'll be different for all

Does anyone claim to have done this? You have just over a second for each and typing alone would seem to chew up your time. Unless you're just copying it from paper right next to you I can't see how anyone could possibly do this. I'd like to see proof that this is even possible.

Took a few tries but it is doable if you know all of them and start in the right spot. I start in Maine and work my way down and across.

Cool quiz, but if you spell one wrong or make a typo, no way will you make it in 60 secs.

Lots of non-Americans, who, like me, no very little about state capitals, and even less that I can remember without freezing up in 60 seconds. Or something.

Such a stressful minute, these quizzes always are! I start out the quiz with a mental image of the map, promising to go in some semblance of order. Next thing you know I am on the other side of the country, jumping back and forth in a panic. Oh Sporcle...

Yeah, really, WTF 0.3&% got 45 but 19% got 50? @BonnieH, I'm on east coast and started naming capitals from east to west. All a matter of individual perspective. Would like to see 2:00 limit. It would be a knowledge test. At 1:00, it's just a typing speed test.

I got up to 46..left the 4 most complicated out. I MIGHT be able to squeeze 47 but that's honestly about it. I don't think I'm going to increase my typing speed much more than it already is (clumsy fingers). It really is just a typing challenge though, I guess some memorization involved but there's no way I can think of all those capitals so fast. I wound up pulling up a list of capitals to look at while I typed.

It amazes me that 13.3% were able to type the entire 50 capitals in less than a minute. There are some extremely quick thinkers as well as excellent typists on here~~I am neither.

No way in hell 13.3% get this PERFECT. Not even 1 in a 100 can get it even looking at a printed list. Now I'm wondering about all of Sporcle's "stats"
