I like this idea, and appreciate what you did with it, but the answers here are very misleading. The whole "internet" thing happened after half of these movies came out, and there are FAR fewer actual reviews for those films (and most of those were done as DVD reviews or transcribed by more diligent publications). For example, Home Alone has only 41 counted reviews. Transformers has 218. This is because Rotten Tomatoes didn't exist when Home Alone came out. Same if you put Billy Madison (38 reviews), On her Majesty's Secret Service (38), and Rocky Horror (37) against Cowboys and Aliens (227 reviews), J Edgar (199), and Spiderman 3 (244). You really can't compare these films against each other with such a massive gap between the number of reviews. My only suggestion would be to pick either all recent films or all older films. (Also, you have the words in the "Rocky Horror" one out of order.) But I genuinely do think this is a great idea for a quiz. And nothing I said above can even begin to explain why so many critics liked Spiderman 3. That I do not understand. |
