There are 7 vowels in the English language. Y is a vowel in many words like "why," "by" and "rhythm." W is a vowel, albeit rare, taken from the Welsh in words like "cwm" and "crwth."

There are 8 vowels if you count X, which acts as a vowel in "x-ray."

Yea, that's not the case. The vowel in the first syllable of "x-ray" is not "x", it's just unwritten. All these quizzes would be much simpler if more people understood that what and what is not a vowel is determined by sounds rather than the arbitrary symbols used to portray them.

Given that it is nearly impossible not to get them all, and quite quickly (who was the person who didn't get a U?)you could have done a quiz for the whole alphabet (if it hasn't been done already) in the same amount of time. It wouldn't matter what was and wasn't a vowel then, either!

The first 4 are quite easy. Struggled on the last one ;) More time ?

Wow 0.2% of these quiz takers are really dumb if they couldn't name the last of the 5 vowels.

That's the fastest vowel movement I've had in years!

There is some serious bug going on with the results when I clicked on it the results were very skewed and it said I got 7 right when I got 13 or 14. Pointless quiz anyway.

Wow! You took a silly quiz and actually made it good! (Originally, the answers were limited to the 5 vowels. Now it's all letters.) There'll be a time when the results are wacky, and you may need to add a minute but this is now an interesting and challenging quiz. I'm doubling my rating from 2 to 4.

This definitely needs more time.

There's no real way to know the answers so it's always going to end up in pure guesswork or cheating. Pretty pointless...

Would it be better if there was just a fraction of the letters? Like the top 10 out of 26?

I still don't get it. What was the point of this again?

It's funny how the first three answers spell STD.
