Great idea for quiz. But what's your source - i.e. Where's Florence? And why no Istanbul? And please accept Dnipropetrovsk. And East Riding of Yorkshire and Highland are not cities nor towns of the UK.

Wow...lots of places I never heard of..especially in Russia. Istanbul should definitely be on this list. I entered Oslo and it didnt come up.

for some reason, the source didn't publish, and no idea why Istanbul wasn't there, but I'll add it. And I hadn't heard of East Riding of Yorkshire and Highland either :)

I made all of your changes. And I put in Oslo and it came up, so I don't know what to do about that

Why didn't Edinburgh make the cut? Not sure which source you used, but I note city mayors doesn't include Edinburgh, but other sources list its population as ~470,000

some of the cities in Russia, such as Irkutsk, are not in Europe

Ugh, CityMayors. Kishinev hasn't been Kishinev to anyone other than the Russians since about 1991. It's Chisinau. Also, there is a seemingly random mixture of English and native spellings here (most of which you have accepted as alternates, to your credit). It just looks a little inconsistent. Still had fun with this one though.

Added Edinburgh, moved Chisinau to the C column, added another K city to replace it

I like the idea of the quiz. You could also add Jena as an answer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jena

Brussels should be in the list. Also, Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk and other Russian cities are not European at all. Vlavivostok is the far east! And if you include them, why not include the Caucasus countries?

I think the Hague should be among the cities with an H.

I agree with Sjoerd and Toon1. Although it's remarked in the instructions that all the Russian cities are included (and therefore you can enter the Siberian ones), it's strange to see "Irkutsk" or "Vladivostok" in a quiz about European cities. It would be easy to remove those that actually are in Asia. Almost everyone agrees that the Europe-Asia boundary is the water divide of the Ural mountains. There's even a Russian monument to mark the exact point: a column with YEVROPA written in a side and AZIYA in the opposite one.

I'll make all the changes, including looking up which of the Russian cities are in Asia and removing them. This will take a bit so give me a day or so.

I'm guessing Nurnberg is an alternate spelling for Nuremberg and, if so, both should be accepted.
