A weapon? What like a rifle, hold on shark, let me use my waterproof gu... too late

Although a good concept for a quiz, there are not enough alternates accepted. I tried 'eyes' 'poke it in the eyes' 'poke its eyes' 'poke eyes' and 'poke' none of which worked. I needed to know 'jab'? And Marshall, a girl used her boogie board as a weapon which did the job fine (she was hitting it on the nose, so maybe it is a bit effective). I'm also not sure why I have 1 of 6 when there are only five answers. Is there a blank one?

Correcting them now. Another weapon example is a speargun. Spearfishermen are some of the most frequent shark attack victims. Plus, anything is better than your hands and feet.

I had a few variations of "poke eyes" but like you said, theres a lot of possibilities for the same meaning.

Maybe I have a sick sense of humour, but I notice "bleeding" and "dying" aren't there. You didn't say they had to be successful things to do during an attack.

Climbing a tree should do the trick ;)

hmmm I believe I typed in "punch in the nose" or something like that, and it wasn't accepted....kind of annoying to see how close i was.. T_T

thanks for pointing that one out
Jul 28th, 2010 at 00:21 GMT
This may be a good idea, but you're not listening to the advice everyone is giving you: you HAVE TO accept alternates, you can't expect people to think of these exact phrases that you invented. Come on. You're going to keep getting low reviews until you listen to reason.
Jul 28th, 2010 at 14:48 GMT
I have 10-15 alternates for each one, if you have one that I should add, just post it.

Is it just a myth that a shark turned on its back effectively comatoses itself
Jul 29th, 2010 at 17:08 GMT
Ditto on the eyes thing. Tried stab/jam/thumbs in/scratch/rip out his and other variations.
Jul 31st, 2010 at 17:26 GMT
Number one, please put in hit the eyes as an answer. And two, if the shark is not yet holding you, it helps to play dead. They will leave you alone.

@ golden, It says five. You need to get on some glasses.

Playing dead has been proven to be ineffective.

You should accept "punch in the face" for "punch in the nose". I'd have gotten one!

I actually did try 'die' and 'bleed', so kthxbai is not alone there. 'cry/yell for help', ore really even just 'cry' itself, also seemed like valid choices...

This quiz creates a horrible image of sharks! Shark attacks rarely ever happen. Crossing the street or getting into a car is WAY more dangerous than a shark. In fact, you are more likely to get hit on the head with a coconut and die, than be attacked by a shark. Meanwhile, humans are killing millions of sharks a year. Your quiz is adding to people's ignorant, skewed view of these beautiful creatures.

Did I say anything about sharks being evil or attacking everyone that goes in the water? No, so I'm really at a loss for how you created that skewed view of my quiz. Sharks are awesome, they are in fact being hunted to extinction, but people knowing how to defend themselves during a one-in-million event doesn't change that.

More people are killed by toasters every year than by sharks. Any chance of a 'things to do in a toaster attack' quiz?
