The issue is that while Bridgeport and New Haven are considered to be part of the NYC "Combined" statistical area (CSA), they are not considered to be part of the NYC Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). Personally, I never really understood why this distinction exists; for example, Dallas and Fort Worth, 30 miles apart, are part of the same MSA, but Baltimore and Washington, which are a similar distance are only part of the same CSA.
If people generally agree that CSAs are a more appropriate measure, I'll be happy to make changes. |
